“Within music, there is a place for purpose, space for storytelling, and medium for memories. Music matters to me because by nature, its creation and appreciation relies on committed community unified in purpose.”
— Branton Meyers
Currently in Nashville, TN, Branton Meyers is an electric, fretless, and upright bassist with experience in audio engineering.
As often the case with good things, Branton’s musical journey began because of his mother, and her passion for the arts. Branton grew up in west Georgia, taking violin and viola lessons reluctantly. It wasn’t until he played with a small community orchestra that he discovered his love for making music – primarily, making music with people. When his mother encouraged him to learn and play bass guitar for church, Branton stepped onto a path that would lead into a meaningful and complex career.
While playing at church with incredible musicians, Branton developed adept skills on bass and sharp ears for music and ensemble excellence. Through musically active middle and high school years, working under and alongside incredible teachers, Branton increased his experience in technical, musical, and leadership knowledge. In years during and since beginning collegiate studies, Branton has completed training and led teams of all types and skill levels. Some experiences were playing diverse styles of music on bass, conducting and managing a symphony orchestra, teaching instrument and music theory lessons, and designing and installing marching band and church audio systems.
Branton is currently based in Nashville, TN and is completing his studies in commercial music, music technology, and audio engineering at Belmont University. He is busy supporting artists, studying technology, and serving his community.
Branton's greatest musical influences are articulate, honest, and intentional players and writers like Andrew Peterson, Rich Mullins, The Arcadian Wild, and Jars of Clay.
If you believe that your sound could be improved through technical support, such as with live sound engineering, gear and instrument repair, or IT work, through efficient and engaging band rehearsals and performances supported by an aware and engaged bassist, or through leadership direction and communication such as an MD, organization and planning aids, or other administrative help, Branton would love to work with you in realizing your vision with care and excellence.
